Unlike many other applications, Easy Tuner is engineered with privacy as a fundamental cornerstone:
- No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not require account creation, registration, nor do we collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or physical location.
- No Audio Recording or Storage: We never record your audio, voice conversations, or acoustic environment. All pitch calculation occurs in temporary volatile memory and is instantly discarded.
- No File or Media Access: We do not read, scan, or access photos, videos, or personal files stored on your device.
2. Device Permissions and How They Are Used
To perform its core functions as an instrument tuner and musical metronome, the application requests the following Android permissions:

Microphone Permission (
android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO):
This permission is mandatory for pitch detection. The app samples short audio buffers locally to analyze sound frequencies (fundamental pitch) using our Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms. This data never leaves your device and is discarded immediately after calculating pitch. -
Foreground Service Permission (
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE&FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK):
Used exclusively by the built-in Metronome feature. This allows continuous, uninterrupted metronome tempo clicks even when your device screen is turned off or when you switch apps to view sheet music or guitar tabs. -
Post Notifications (
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS):
Required on Android 13+ solely to display an active metronome notification control widget while the metronome is actively playing in the background. -
Network Access (
android.permission.INTERNET&ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE):
Required to fetch and display third-party advertisements via Google AdMob and verify network connectivity. -
Advertising ID (
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID):
Used in compliance with Google Play Store standards to allow Google AdMob to deliver ads.
3. Third-Party Advertising and Analytics
To keep Easy Tuner free for users, we display third-party advertisements. These services may collect technical identifiers:
Google AdMob (Google LLC)
We use Google AdMob to serve banner, interstitial, and app-open advertisements. Google AdMob may use device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID / AAID), IP address, and general device telemetry to deliver relevant ads, limit ad frequency, and prevent fraud.

Opting Out of Personalized Advertising

4. Data Security & Storage
Because we do not store personal information or audio data on any server, there is zero risk of your acoustic or personal data being breached, leaked, or sold. All internal DSP computations execute purely within your phone's temporary RAM.
5. Children's Privacy
Easy Tuner is designed for general audiences and musicians of all ages (Content Rated for 3+ on Google Play). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate steps.
6. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Under European and California privacy frameworks (GDPR & CCPA), users have rights regarding access, deletion, and restriction of personal data. Since Easy Tuner does not collect or retain personal records, there is no personal profile to delete. For advertising identifiers managed by Google, users can reset or delete their Advertising ID directly via Android system settings.
